Immune Function: Garlic (Allium sativum) has been used in the LeisureVit formula for a myriad of reasons. As it is a strong antimicrobial, anti-viral and anti-fungal, it helps to assist in the elimination of infections and strengthen the immune system of the horse. It is, as well rich in selenium which is vital for many actions particularly as an antioxidant and for the efficient function of the thyroid. It is well known that high levels of garlic or long-term use can cause anaemia in horses due to the allicin component. Allicin is destroyed in the drying process of powdered garlic, as it is extremely unstable, hence why we have used this version in our formula.Â
Skin Health: Red Clover (Trifolium pratense)Â is indicated for skin conditions, particularly for its hormone modulating and diuretic effects. Being a diuretic and due to its rich level of antioxidants; it may assist in the elimination of wastes and improvement of lymphatic flow. Both of which are crucial to be working efficiently to eliminate manifestations in the skin. Commonly known as marigold, Calendula has been found to have an effect on hyaluronan, which is a major component in cellular regeneration. Hence, its effects on potentially accelerating the healing process and maintenance of healthy skin tissue. Similar to garlic, Calendula also provides anti-microbial properties. These work synergistically with garlic which may provide extra support for the immune system.Â
Coat Shine: Commonly known as marigold, Calendula is a flowering plant which is used for numerous ailments, however the majority of its benefits come from its high level of bioflavonoids resulting in strong anti-inflammatory properties. Improving the antioxidant status of the horse, improves cellular function which allows for stronger bonds between cells, meaning a healthier and shinier coat.Â
Hoof Health: Similarly, to coat shine, hoof health comes from a healthy inside and complete nutrition.
Digestion: Peppermint (Mentha pipeita) Peppermint is one of the most famous herbs; used for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antioxidant, and vasoconstrictor effects . One of the other main properties of peppermint, is in its action on the digestive system, it is a carminative; which means it may increase motility of the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, there has been research in its effects on lining the epithelial of the digestive system which may assist healing of digestive complaints such as ulcers. Although there isn’t enough research to conclude, peppermint has also shown some benefit in increasing respiratory capacity of athletes
Mineral Tissue Salts, Biochemical tissue salts, or cell salts, are mineral salts that exist in the cells and play a critical role in cellular metabolism. The salts are administered in very small feed rates and are prepared in a way similar to homeopathic remedies. Hi Form uses these mineral salts in most of their formulas, along with specific, organic herbs and herb extracts, amino acids, vitamins and trace elements.

300kg pony: 10g  (approx. 1/2 large level scoop)
500kg horse: 15g (approx. 1 large level scoops)
Feeding Instructions: Mix well into slightly damp feed.
