Detox | Support Through Times of Change
For the weeks when everything changes.
A horse's year is full of turning points — spring grass arriving, a new cut of hay, the first week back in work after a holiday, the busy stretch of the season. Detox is our traditional answer to those moments: ten herbs, an amino acid and a live yeast in one balanced blend, fed for a week or two at a time to support normal wellbeing and help maintain condition while the routine finds its feet again.
✓ Ten traditional herbs in one blend — nothing hidden
✓ Helps maintain condition through seasonal and feed changes
✓ Fed in short spells — a week or two at a time, not year-round
✓ Human-grade, TGA-listed ingredients · no fillers
£1.29 a day while you're feeding it — and most horses only need a few weeks a year.

What is Detox?
Horses are creatures of routine
Ask anyone who has ever been late with breakfast. Horses thrive on sameness — and yet their year is built of changes: the flush of spring grass, the switch from summer grazing to winter hay, a move of yard, the step back into work after time off. Detox exists for exactly those weeks. It is a blend of ten traditional herbs — peppermint and ginger through to burdock, nettle and St Mary's thistle — with methionine and a live yeast alongside, designed to be fed while the change happens, supporting normal wellbeing as the routine settles.
Ten herbs, one blend
There is no star ingredient here — that is deliberate, and it is how Hi Form Australia has formulated since 1990. Each herb was chosen as much for how it sits with the other nine as for its own centuries of traditional use: bitter roots beside gentle leaves, warming ginger beside cooling peppermint. Every one is human-grade and TGA-listed, milled and blended in our HACCP-certified, Feedsafe-accredited facility in Australia — no fillers, no colours, nothing your horse doesn't need.
A short spell, not another daily tub
Detox isn't designed to live in the feed room scoop-by-scoop all year. Most owners feed it the way we suggest: about a week every six months as part of a healthy working horse's routine, or a week or two around the moments of change — and then the pouch goes back on the shelf. Your daily foundation stays Oxydane (or LeisureVit for the lighter life); Detox is the seasonal guest. It is one of the least expensive habits in the range for exactly that reason.
What it does
Tap any benefit for the detail.
Spring grass arriving, the autumn flush, the move onto winter forage — a horse's world changes even when the yard routine doesn't. A short spell of Detox supports normal wellbeing while the season turns.
Any change of feed is a change for the horse. Fed through the swap, the blend — which includes a live yeast officially classed as a digestibility enhancer — aids a balanced ration while the menu changes.
Horses at rest or turned away come back to work with plenty to adjust to. A week or two of Detox as work resumes helps maintain condition while fitness is rebuilt.
Competition runs, clinics, camps — the busy stretches ask a lot of a horse's routine. Detox slots into the feed as the calendar fills, supporting normal wellbeing through the workload.
Peppermint, liquorice, fenugreek, burdock, dandelion, St Mary's thistle, marshmallow, echinacea, ginger and nettle — herbs with hundreds of years of feeding tradition behind them, every one human-grade and TGA-listed. Tradition, held to modern standards.
Because Detox is fed for short spells rather than every day forever, one 500g pouch typically covers several of them. £1.29 a day while it's in the feed — and weeks at a time when it isn't costing you a penny.
Just feed for a week or two - when seasons change
Mix well into slightly damp feed.
Every horse is different — if you're not sure whether yours would benefit, or for how long, our free nutrition advice team will tell you honestly (including when the answer is 'save your money').
When does my horse need Detox in their bucket?
The moments it was made for...
- The seasons are changing — spring flush or the switch to winter forage
- A yard move, with everything new at once
- The end of a long, hard season, as the routine winds down
- Your horse has completed a recent course of medication from the vet
- A short reset spell as part of the yearly rhythm
What it actually costs
£1.29 a day at the 15g rate (£2.58 at the full 30g) — but only while you're feeding it. A 500g pouch holds 33 days' feeding at 15g, and used the way we suggest — a week or so at a time, a few times a year — one £43 pouch typically sees a horse through the year. As feed-room habits go, it is one of the least expensive in the range: a couple of coffees per spell.
Could we make it cheaper? Only by putting less in — and ten human-grade herbs in one blend is the whole point.
Available in a 500g tub.

On the shelf before the season turns
A fresh pouch delivered on a schedule that suits how you actually feed it — many owners will want a longer gap between deliveries for Detox, so a new pouch arrives ahead of the spring grass and the winter switch rather than every month. Made in our just-in-time batches, never warehouse-aged, £2 delivery per pouch, and you can swap, pause or cancel whenever you like.

No. Detox is a complementary feed supplement for maintaining healthy horses — not a medicine, and not a replacement for one. The name is simply the one this blend has carried in the range for decades. If your horse is unwell or on any medication, your vet comes first, always — and our free nutrition advice team can help afterwards.
The classic moments: as the spring grass comes through, when the forage changes for winter, during a move of yard, in the first week or two back in work after a break — or simply about a week every six months as part of a healthy working horse's routine.
You could, but it isn't designed for that — it's a short-spell blend. The daily, all-year foundations in the range are Oxydane (horses in work) and LeisureVit (the lighter life). If you're unsure which your horse needs, the free nutrition advice team will happily map it out.
Peppermint, fenugreek and liquorice do the persuading — three of the most palatable herbs there are. Mix it well into slightly damp feed.

As with any addition to a broodmare's ration, have a word with your vet and our free nutrition advice team first — they'll happily advise on timing and rate for your mare.
