What is LeisureVit?

Off games is not off duty

Plenty of horses live the good life — a bit of hacking, a lot of field, the odd local show when the weather behaves. Plenty more are retired, resting or turned away for the season. What none of them get is a day off from nutrition: hooves keep growing, coats keep changing, and the gut keeps working through every haynet.

LeisureVit is the complete daily formula for exactly these horses, designed to be fed alongside pasture or hay. Close to 60 active ingredients: vitamins from A to the full B-complex, plus C and D; minerals delivered as Hi Form's signature tissue salts; eleven amino acids; omegas 3, 6 and 9; our BioEquus gut support; and a small team of traditional botanicals for skin and coat. The daily essentials, sized for the lighter life.

Oxydane's sibling — not its understudy

If you know Hi Form, you know Oxydane, our daily formula for horses in work. LeisureVit is its sibling: same philosophy, same fussy sourcing, different job. A horse in steady work runs through nutrients at working rates — Oxydane is built for that. A horse living the lighter life needs the same essentials at everyday levels, with a little extra thought for skin, coat and a forage-based gut — and that's LeisureVit.

Together with BreedPlus, our formula for breeding stock and youngsters, they make up Hi Form's three daily all-rounders: one horse, one formula, matched to the life it's actually living. And when that life changes — a step up in work, a wind-down, a well-earned retirement — you simply swap one sibling for the other.

The standards don't take it easy

A lighter formula doesn't mean lighter standards. Every ingredient is human grade — if we wouldn't consume it, our horses don't either — and listed with Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration, which means each one has been assessed for quality and safety in humans. The whole formula is made in our HACCP-certified, Feedsafe-accredited facility in Australia, with no fillers, no artificial flavours and no preservatives, respecting the horse as the strict herbivore it is. The tub in the retirement paddock gets exactly the same fussiness as the one on the competition lorry.

What it does

Tap any benefit for the detail.

Grass and hay are the right foundation for the lighter life, but pasture varies field to field and season to season, and forage alone rarely covers every micronutrient. LeisureVit aids a balanced daily diet by topping up the vitamins, minerals and trace elements a horse needs, at everyday levels, in a serve small enough to hide in a handful of damp feed.

A horse living on forage lives by its gut. Every serve of LeisureVit includes BioEquus, our live-culture formula, to support a healthy gut microbiome and normal digestion — so your horse gets the most out of every blade of grass, and you get one tub fewer to buy.

LeisureVit carries botanicals with centuries of traditional use in skin and coat care — red clover and marigold extracts — alongside zinc, biotin and omegas 3, 6 and 9, to help maintain healthy skin and a coat that gleams. Formulated with the show ring in mind, though the field ornament gets the same shine.

Hoof horn grows all year round, in work or out of it. LeisureVit supplies the classic line-up — biotin, methionine, silica and zinc — to help maintain strong, healthy hooves, shod or barefoot.

Amino acids are the building blocks of muscle and condition, and LeisureVit carries eleven of them — lysine, methionine, threonine and more — plus omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids, to help maintain condition and topline while the workload is light.

A 15g daily serve, from 63p a day on the 5kg tub — and it stands in for a balancer, a separate coat supplement and a separate gut tub, because the essentials and BioEquus are already in there. Economical was part of the design brief, not an afterthought.

Same family, different job

LeisureVit and Oxydane are siblings, not rivals — the same philosophy and the same fussy sourcing, matched to different workloads. Neither is 'better'; the only question that matters is what your horse's week actually looks like.

What's Inside?

Key bio-available ingredients

Mineral tissue saltsHi Form's signature since 1990: the body's 12 essential minerals prepared as finely-dosed tissue salts, chosen because they're easy to take up and use. The same approach runs through Oxydane and the rest of the range.
BioEquus (built in)Our own live-culture gut support, included in every serve to support a healthy gut microbiome and normal digestion. For a horse living mostly on forage, that's the quiet engine of good condition.
Red clover extract 10:1 Red clover extract 10:1A meadow botanical with a long tradition in skin and coat care, concentrated ten-to-one so a small serve carries a meaningful amount.
Marigold (calendula) extract 10:1 Marigold (calendula) extract 10:1The classic cottage-garden flower, used for centuries and included here as part of the skin-and-shine team — concentrated, not sprinkled.
Peppermint extract Peppermint extractA botanical in its own right, and the reason fussy eaters — including opinionated old gentlemen — tend not to notice they're being supplemented.
Garlic powder (low level)The traditional feed-room herb, included deliberately at a low level and in dried, powdered form. Tradition, applied with restraint.
The vitamin shelf The vitamin shelfVitamin A, the full B-complex including biotin and folic acid, vitamin C and vitamin D — the everyday vitamins, at levels printed on the analysis for anyone to check.
Amino acids (11 of them)Lysine, methionine, threonine, tryptophan and seven more — building blocks for muscle, condition, hoof and coat.
Omegas 3, 6 & 9Plant-derived fatty acids with a well-earned reputation in the glossy-coat department.

When does my horse need LeisureVit?

The moments it was made for...

  • The workload has wound down — semi-retired, retired, or simply the quiet life
  • Turned away for a spell, but the daily essentials still need covering
  • The happy-hacker routine: light work, big life
  • A good doer on a trim ration that needs its vitamins without the calories
  • Winter on forage alone — the micronutrient gap season
A scoop being added to a feed bucket

What it actually costs

From 63p a day: a 5kg tub feeds a 500kg horse at 15g a day for around 333 days — about the price of the mints in your pocket. A pony at 10g stretches the same tub to 500 days, which works out around 42p. And because the daily essentials, the coat botanicals and BioEquus all live in the one tub, it stands in for a balancer and the separate supplements either side of it.

Could we make it cheaper? Only by putting less in — and that's not how this family works. LeisureVit is already the economical sibling: the same standards as Oxydane, at everyday levels, at a lighter price.

Available in 1kg, 2kg and 5kg tubs, with a monthly subscription pouch.
