EquiMetaBalance | Good Doer & Native Support

Sale price£23.40

For the ones who keep a waistline on winter air.

Some horses need help holding condition. Yours is not one of them. The good doers, the natives, the ponies bred for windswept hillsides — they thrive on remarkably little, and feeding them well is a careful, deliberate business. EquiMetaBalance was formulated for exactly these horses and ponies: a synergistic blend of botanicals and minerals that supports normal metabolism and slots into a forage-first, tightly managed ration without adding the sugars, starches or fillers you're working so hard to keep out.

What is EquiMetaBalance?

Bred for mountains, living in meadows

Highlands, Welshies, Shetlands, Dartmoors, the cobs and the crossbreds — Britain's natives were shaped by country that fed them meanly and worked them hard. Their metabolisms are magnificently thrifty: built to winter on heather and come out the other side in respectable shape. Then we moved them onto lush paddocks sown for cattle and dairy herds, cut their daily mileage to a fraction, and wondered why the waistline flourished. A good doer isn't doing anything wrong — he's doing exactly what he was bred to do, in a landscape that changed around him.

Management first — always

Nobody manages a good doer with a scoop of anything, and we won't pretend otherwise. The real work is the routine you're probably already running: weighed hay (soaked when the analysis calls for it), restricted or muzzled grazing when the spring grass gets silly, a track or a companion to keep everyone moving, and honest condition checks with your hands as well as your eyes. That's the programme — no supplement replaces it. If you'd like help putting the routine together, our nutrition advice team does exactly that every day, free.

Where EquiMetaBalance fits

When you're weighing hay and reading every label twice, anything that goes in the bucket has to earn its place. EquiMetaBalance is built to that standard: a concentrated blend of botanicals and minerals that supports normal metabolism, fed by the spoonful in a token feed, with no added sugars, starches or fillers — nothing your carefully controlled ration didn't sign up for. And it's formulated as a synergistic whole, Hi Form's way: every ingredient chosen for how it works with the others, not a hero act with a supporting cast. Human-grade, TGA-listed ingredients, made in our HACCP-certified, Feedsafe-accredited facility in Australia.

For every season of the good-doer year

Good-doer management isn't a January project — it's spring grass, autumn flush, the great winter rug audit, year after year. EquiMetaBalance is designed for long-term daily feeding as part of the normal ration, through every season of that calendar, and it sits comfortably alongside restricted grazing and forage-only diets. Plenty of customers feed it with Oxydane or LeisureVit as the daily foundation — the range is designed to share a bucket.

What it does

Tap any benefit for the detail.

In a category fond of big promises, ours is deliberately modest: EquiMetaBalance supports normal metabolism in healthy horses and ponies, as part of a balanced, carefully managed diet. That's the claim and that's the lane — because the rest of the job belongs to forage, management and movement, and no honest label says otherwise.

A controlled diet is built on what you leave out. EquiMetaBalance is designed to respect that: no added sugars, no starches, no bulking agents — so it can sit inside a strict, forage-based ration without upsetting the arithmetic you've worked so hard on.

Astragalus, aloe vera, ashwagandha, rhodiola, fenugreek, cinnamon and ginger — seven botanicals with centuries of traditional use across Chinese, Ayurvedic and European practice — alongside an amino acid, two minerals and a carefully chosen carrier, all working as one formula. Hi Form has formulated this way since 1990: the recipe is the ingredient.

Good doers don't get buckets of hard feed, and EquiMetaBalance doesn't need one. Ten to thirty grams a day — a couple of spoons in a handful of low-sugar chaff, slightly damp — and the job's done. Nothing your feed plan will even notice.

The good-doer routine changes with the seasons but never stops, and neither should the consistency. EquiMetaBalance is designed for daily feeding as part of the normal ration, season after season — including for ponies at rest or turned away.

Feeding the ones who live on air is genuinely harder than feeding the ones who don't. Our free nutrition advice team helps owners build the whole routine — forage, grazing, movement, and where (or whether) EquiMetaBalance fits. Even when the honest answer is 'your management is already doing the job'.

What's Inside?

Key bio-available ingredients

Astragalus AstragalusA root with many centuries of use in traditional Chinese practice, where it ranks among the most prized herbs of all. One of seven botanicals chosen to work as a team, not a solo act.
Aloe veraOne of the oldest plants in any herbal tradition's book — grown, kept and fed by households from ancient Egypt onwards.
Ashwagandha AshwagandhaA cornerstone of Ayurvedic tradition for more than two thousand years. The name is Sanskrit; the pedigree is real.
Rhodiola RhodiolaThe golden root of northern folk tradition — gathered from mountain and tundra country, herbal practice from the coldest places on earth.
Fenugreek seed Fenugreek seedAn old feed-room friend, fed to horses since antiquity — and the reason fussy ponies finish the bucket. It would earn its place on palatability alone.
Cinnamon CinnamonBark of a tree cultivated for thousands of years — as at home in traditional practice as it is in the kitchen.
Ginger GingerThe kitchen-cupboard classic, with as long a traditional pedigree as any botanical we use.
L-Tyrosine L-TyrosineAn amino acid — one of the protein building blocks — included in its pure, human-grade form.
Magnesium MagnesiumThe everyday macromineral no ration should run short of — a staple of well-managed feeding everywhere.
Chromium ChromiumA trace mineral present in ordinary diets in tiny amounts, included here at a measured, declared level.
Palatinose PalatinoseThe carrier that binds the formula — chosen, like everything else in this tub, with its audience firmly in mind.

When does my horse need EquiMetaBalance in their bucket?

The moments it was made for...

  • Yours is the pony who thrives on air and strong opinions
  • Grazing is restricted — muzzle, track system, or the bare paddock
  • A native doing native things on remarkably little
  • The ration is forage-first and carefully weighed, and the micronutrients need to arrive withoutcalories
  • Our advice team has helped you build the management plan and this is the nutritional layer

What it actually costs

From 67p a day for ponies. At the 10g rate, a 1kg tub lasts 100 days — three months and change for less than the price of a weekly coffee.

A 500kg horse at 20g a day is £1.34 — and a 1kg tub is 50 days. Larger yards and bigger horses can step up to the 2kg or 5kg tubs.

Could we make it cheaper? Only by putting less in — and a formula built for animals who eat almost nothing has no room for padding. Everything in the tub is there to work.
